Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Backchannel, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Description of Service
Backchannel is a personalized daily learning app that uses AI to generate research briefs on topics you configure. The service includes free and paid subscription tiers.
Account Registration
You must create an account to use Backchannel. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Subscription and Billing
Free Plan — Includes 5 manual brief generations per month and 1 enabled topic.
Pro Plan — $9.99/month (includes a 7-day free trial). Includes 1 daily scheduled brief generation and up to 3 enabled topics.
Subscriptions are billed through the Google Play Store and managed via RevenueCat. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the service
- Use the service to generate content that is harmful, abusive, or violates any third-party rights
- Share your account credentials with others
AI-Generated Content
Briefs are generated by Anthropic’s Claude AI and include cited sources. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions. You should verify important information independently. We are not responsible for decisions made based on brief content.
Intellectual Property
The Backchannel app, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by mogniznom. Research briefs generated for your account are yours to use for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account or at backchannelinfo.com/delete-account.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that briefs will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, mogniznom shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Backchannel.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
